Poor early summer conditions

The combination of aggressive growth of algal mats and the high levels of chlorophyl giving the pond a distinct green cast make for poor recreational conditions in early summer.

Avoid contact with the floating mats. We are sampling them for analysis.

Our primary concern at this time is for pets and small children who might ingest water.

Our next cleanup is scheduled for the week of July 13th.

Next weekend we will be sampling and measuring clarity as part of our Citizens Statewide Lake Assessment Program. We will post clarity readings.
