Day by day improvement!
This morning, Peter swam out two thirds of the way across the pond from north to south. “I would say about 80% clear of green dots… a little normal chlorophyl lightly tinting the glass green. Nothing likely to cause trouble — but we keep our eyes open and avoid lingering if and where cyanobacteria dots are more than occasional.”
Jerri and Peter both explored yesterday afternoon, midday, and unlike this morning, the north shores areas were flecked at that time. Open water in the center was appealing.
With calm clear conditions over the next few days, we expect the pond to stratify and settle. The weather also looks beautiful for labor day weekend, but there’s a chance a storm may unsettle the pond on Friday. For now, recreational conditions look good, but keep your eyes and use some judgement, especially with pets or open cuts.
