Monday blues. Sightings of blue/green algae.

With the lily pads fully regrown and a second harvest/cleanup still 10 days away we spotted our first distinctive cyanobacteria (bright geen dots) in open water. Blooms have been observed to be widespread.

Blue/green cyanobacteria can at times be harmful, so please avoid contact while these dots persist in the visible water column. Conditions can change rapidly, and the next harvest and regrowth may also serve to siphon off the phosporous in the upper waters that these bacteria feed on.

Enjoy your lake outside of the bloom!

We will keep you posted as conditions change.
